That’s cool. I personally don’t believe in anything spiritual/supernatural, but this seems pretty straight forward from what I can tell. Do what you want? Yea sure. 3.          When and why did you start playing music? Some time in high school (98-01) not unlike most of us, I grabbed a flyer from the local skate shop and checked out a gig. I wanted to start my own band the moment I saw how much energy exploded in that room. Seemed so fun to me. BOY was I wrong.. 4.          What was your first show? A gig in NB at this rehab center that had shows every weekend. The line-up probably had all the local yocals like Smackin Isaiah (now A Wilhelm Scream) All Chrome (on...

Marcus Newstead “So many bones attached to so many lives and now they’re hung up as decorations as an eternal offering.”

Marcus Newstead of, Fister  and  Daybringer 1.            Where are you from? I was born in Southeast Missouri, grew up in a small town with no stop lights or 24 hour stores called Ironton but moved to St. Louis when I was 22. 2.            What do you think about chaos magic? I think we were also checking out stuff like “Clouds Without Water” and other occult poetry/prose, but  mainly Aleister Crowley. At the time, “Psychonaut” was pretty far out there on my occult comprehension scale but I eventually grew to get a little more intimate with the concepts as applied to “normal” society. Essentially I grew to respect occultism for the solutions it had to dealing with everyday life....

The wastelands of Detroit, Michigan. I grew up there, moved to the Bay Area of California in 1990, just after the "big one," when housing was approaching affordability there. In 2004, I moved to Los Angeles and ended up staying for 11 years. Just over 3 years ago I moved up to the 'burbs of Portland, Oregon where I currently reside. 2.          What do you think about chaos magic? Does it have a card with a dragon on it or something? 3.          When and why did you start playing music? When I moved to California in 1990, I took in some of those dipshit California vibes and started playing around then.  We moved in the middle of the school year, and when I went to go join the school band c...

Alex Hughes "I've had that guitar for 23 years now and I've written almost every song with that guitar."

11 Questions with Alex Hughes from Hatred Surge and Holy Money (Mammoth Grinder, Insect Warfare, Iron Age, Machine Gun Romantics, xPOWERBUTTx)  1.            Where are you from? Katy, Tx, - Houston suburb 2.            What do you think about chaos magic? See next answer. 3.            When and why did you start playing music? I remember really finding way more interest in music around 4th grade. It went from being obsessed with Michael Jackson and listening to mostly soundtracks for movies that I liked and figuring out what I liked from that kind of selection. Seeing the music video for Metallica's "One" and "Enter Sandman" and the release of the "You Could Be Mine" G'n'R video as promotion of Terminator 2; pretty much did it for me and set me off down a path of finding heavier music while convenie...
